Abstract
Clean groundwater is a necessity to the Hawaiian Islands because groundwater is the primary drinking water source. To alleviate the demand on groundwater, treated wastewater reuse should be considered, especially due to the growing population and limited water resources. However, there are concerns that treated wastewaters and other wastewaters have the potential to leach into our soils and contaminate freshwater sources. This project addresses thqse concerns by studying virus adsorption to and transport through the topical soils of Hawaii.
