dc.description | Genre: Medicine/huru. Marselina Methi tells a litle about 'huru hibu' ('huru 'hibu' plant). Like some of the other early recordings of 'ngiru huru' this recording leaves questions.. Does she 'huru as well? Or only cures ('ngiru'). I interpreted it that way, for al her at least three cures. Anyhow this was the first time we heard of a 'huru hibu'. Methi chews unripe white beans and 'hibu' root' with the obligatory areca, betel, lime. With 'bhuu wao' adat prayer to chase away the disease. The last sentrences are confusing ('wako kapha', 'babha'). Talking about the symptoms/disease?Listen also to her 'huru koli paku''. Recorded with the AT2020 mic by SD and HR, late morning 16 June 2015 sitting on the 'woga' by her house. Her sister Lanu was also present. | |
