Abstract
Description
Genre: Medicine/huru. Lebi Wonggane's 'huru', 'huru ha'o' (huru bamboo) was recorded 27 July 2015 outside her home in the morning by Pidhu (Ebbe) using the H4N Zoom. 'Huru ha'o' refers here to the symptoms: joint ache, knees hurt, reumatic disorders The cure is chewed, 'hao' bamboo and tobacco, with the betel (sirih pinang) and lime. Two types of small stones, "wife-man stones" are part of the heaing ritual. The chewed mixture is put on the place where it is hurting. It seems that the recording was interrupted. Lebi does not hang a sign/curse as a prohibition in the plantation, she only cures, and who is to cure is decided by 'baga', hand measuring across the arms and shoulders, as it often is.
