Genre: Medicine/huru. Alusia Ngole, a grandmother from kampong Hobo, Maluriwu, tells about her 'huru wole'. 'Wole' means both sugar palm fruit and water cops. She 'huru' several diferent kinds of fruit trees and crops to protect them from theft. The cure of the symptom, 'huru', is to 'ngiru' ("chew-cure") with areca nut, betel pepper, lime, ginger, tobacco, sugar palm fibre and white beans. With 'bhulu wa'o' prayer. If well, the afflicted person pays her a small sum of money as thank you. Recorded by Pidhu Sophune (Ebbe) 1 Nov 2015 outside her home at c. 8 am with the AT Lavalier mic, which resulted in a loud recording. Portrait.
