Description
Student portion - Students present dialogue and information on the island of Maui. Student portion - a narrative on the various Hawaiian methods of preparing fish. HA does an opening chant. ("Liʻuliʻu Wale" and "Kūnihi Ka Mauna") HA talks about where she was born (Kahana). HA gives a good detailed description of preparing lau hala for weaving, also preparation of loulu palm. HA talks about different types of hula kahiko (ancient hula). HA mentions Huilua, the pool of Kahana. HA talks briefly about aʻa hala (hala root), which is used a medicine for pregnant women.
