| dc.description.abstract | At forty-five years of age, Yukio Mishima had de voted his life to two areas: his writing and the body or action. Beyond this lay Mishima the businessman, Mishima the strong believer in the social order of Japan, and Mishima the nihilist. At this premature age, Yukio Mishima literally cut his life short by his own hand. One must look beneath the mask of Yukio Mishima, into his biography as Kimitake Hiraoka to fully appreciate his writdng. From biographical and cultural information, his works in turn become. illumined. | |
