Abstract
Description
Spoken by the Atayal people in Taiwan, Yilan Creole is the only known Japanese-based contact variety with Austronesian influences. Based on my fieldwork, this presentation discusses the past and current sociolinguistic situations in Taiwan and how they have contributed to the endangerment of Yilan Creole.
