Genre: Legend. Title: Siga. Sosu Wakane (b. c. 1930) recorded sitting on the woga in front of his house, kampong Ndeo, 5 Dec 2014 early evening by SD and HR with the AT2020 mic. With Lakimosa Anto Ropi (Margono), Punga and a couple of younger relatives. Sosu told the story of Siga, a Ndeo legend, contemporary with Pio (pikariwu). He had recently received some new information (in a dream) on Siga's origin. Genre: legend/folk tale/myth/oral history. Partly transcribed, not yet translated. Sosu is also known as Sosu Karapaune (Buffalo Sosu), because he is the care taker of the Ndeo domain's buffalo for the five years from the ritual Pua Karapau (Bringing buffalo) until Pati Karapau (Cutting Buffalo), when the agricultural cycle ends, to begin again.
