Abstract

A new digital transmission technique for analog signal is studied. It was found that the sample rate and signal to noise ratio are comparable to those of PCM, but it has advantages over PCM in that it requires no complicated A-D and D-A converters used in PCM and it is not affected by slowly varying timing error. From the study, a simple new way of generating wide-band PM and FM signals was found. Also found was a way to construct a nonlinearity whose function- depends on a reference periodic signal.
