| dc.description | We will begin by clarifying what the terms ‘topic’ and ‘focus’ refer to, drawing on examples from spontaneously produced speech. This material will, first, provide a guide to the identification of topic and focus in text material. But second, it will serve as a basis for developing strategies to elicit analogous examples in the fieldwork context. | |
