Abstract

Particle aggregation in a liquid medium is a common phenomenon in various natural settings. Upon aggregation, particles move as a single body, with the aggregated particle system maintaining an invariant shape. The newly developed dissipative hydrodynamic model by us can accurately simulate the hydrodynamics of such aggregated particles in a fluid medium. The newly developed dissipative hydrodynamic model includes constraint forces to accurately simulate the geometrical invariance of the aggregated particle system. The developed model was tested for a simple case of three aggregated particles that settle in water at terminal velocity.
