Abstract

Description

Genre: Fairy tale. Title: Celu loke (Opening the skin). Lengu Nandene (b. c. 1916), kampong Mata mere tells a story of "opening the skin", 'Celu loke'. A grandfather takes his grandson (or grandmother and granddaughter, the word is the same for all; 'pu'). By the beach the grandfather does not wash himself, but takes off his skin to dry it on a coral. The grandson becomes terrified, and after, the grandfather becomes angry because he had washed the grandson, and he became afraid when he only had good intentions. This file is made from two recordings, one done with the H4N (and her voice was very loud) and one with the AT2020. It is the only joint file I have done, and because Lengu thought she had missed something in the first (or forgot that we had recorded it already). From the second recording session with Lengu Nandene. Recorded by SD with the AT2020 mic 2 February 2015 in the home of Bapak Pui and Mama Yuli. With Maria Methi and others.
