| dc.description | Mel Kaneshige joined Palama Settlement's Board of Trustees in the late 1970s and became Board President at the age of 30. In the early 1980s, he served on the Capital Campaign Committee, Campaign for People, that led to the building of Palama Settlement's dining and meeting complex. In 2015, when Palama was considering redevelopment of its 6.2 acre campus, he led the effort with a needs assessment and negotiated with a potential developer. | |
