Abstract
Growing up on an island has given me the understanding the ocean and its tides dictate
and sculpt the way we all live. Hawai‘i’s coastlines are experiencing a range of changes
due to coastal erosion and sea-level rise. Salt and tides erode and change our coast over
time, the site-specific installation is an artwork that engages these natural processes. The
tool records decay and growth found in intertidal zones in Kāne‘ohe Bay.
