dc.description.abstractThis paper looks at determining the general phonemic inventory of Palauan. Location and history, dialectical variation, analysis of syllables, consonants, consonant allophones, vowel allophones, excrescent schwa; distribution of consonants, vowels and initial syllables without vowels. Stress, pitch, tone, terminal contour, internal juncture, text and a comparison with Oiterong and Hsu are also discussed.
