dc.description.abstract The current study attempts to analyze ELI reading placement test results to examine item reliability. As it is a Norm-Referenced Test (NRT), several dependability factors, such as item facility (IF) and item discrimination (ID) were referred to measure item reliability. The analysis of items revealed that a majority of the items were quite strong as reflected in their IF and ID values, but several items were shown to be problematic. This study discusses those problematic items and possible erroneous sources of those items and present suggestions to strengthen the reliability of test items.
