Abstract
This study takes a look at air policies, transpacific aviation and early expansion of commercial air operations into the pacific. Commercial fliers provided information for the U.S. Army and Navy a decade before hostilities between Japan and the U.S. The Army and Navy were able to draw upon the knowledge of commercial fliers in order to conduct the air operations that characterized Pacific aviation.
