Description
Diaspora speakers of Cook Islands Māori, with their various proficiencies, are poorly represented in corpora and NLP tools. To ameliorate this we (1) Conducted NLP workshops with Cook Islanders, and (2) conducted documentation workshops with L1 and diaspora heritage speakers. Here we propose methods for including diaspora speakers in documentation.
