Abstract

This study of tropical Pacific satellite cloud spectra seeks to look at some of the following: How geographic distribution of total spectral power compared to time-averaged cloud cover, prominent peaks in cloud spectra, indication of movement of cloud disturbances, spectral peaks associated with movement, seasonal and yearly differences in spectra, and present tropical synoptic and numerical models includine the "wave in the easterlies" (alias easterly wave).
