Abstract

The stability of a structural member is of continuing importance on modern construction. Because of this, the buckling of a bar or column due to axial loading has been experimentally studied and theoretically analyzed. Better approximation of the ultimate load capacity and deflected configuration of a column must be known by the engineer in order to prevent any possible collapse, elastic or inelastic, due to buckling.
