Abstract
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the entertainment industry has not been uncommon, but it has become significantly more visible since the emergence of generative AI technologies in recent years. The public now enjoys AI-generated entertainers and their content through various media channels and social media outlets. As generative AI technology enhances the functionality of AI, it is worthwhile to explore people’s perceptions and feelings about its application to the entertainment industry. Due to a lack of prior literature studying this area, our research attempts to answer the research questions using AI-generated singers compared to human singers. We specified hypotheses based on prior studies and the concepts of dual realism perspectives, which deal with form and behavioral realisms. We collected comments from YouTube regarding AI-generated singers and tested our hypotheses. Detailed analysis results and discussions are presented.
