A retired teacher speaks about the effect of teachers in the long run on their students, her interest and her role in incorporating Hawaiian studies into her classroom, or into a television series and also into her family life. She also details her husband and children's education backgrounds and working experiences. She also talks about her book that she and another teacher co-authored about being Japanese American in Hawai'i and her religious affiliations.
