ELI 83: Writing for Foreign Graduate Students (An ESL Academic Writing Program)

Abstract

This report contains a collection of materials and guidelines useful for teaching ELI 83, an advanced academic writing course for graduate students. This comprehensive course guide lists all activities that can be systematically done throughout the semester. Therefore, it is hoped that these materials can be adapted and rewritten to fit the needs of the students and teaching plans of the instructor. Importantly, it contains information on icebreaker and a diagnostic unit for the class as well as writing projects which inform students of the importance of writing in their field of study.
