Abstract

Through a perplexing deficiency in our society, human intelligence often takes us far away from ourselves. Everyday we are bombarded with information through sound and visual images and there is no time or space for momentary experience. We are so dependent on time and schedules that we sometimes forget to breathe. My installation is not about this societal deficiency per se, but more about the counter balance to this problem. IN•SIGHT is about turning our focus, our vision away from the external world for a while, in order to be present with our internal selves. The installation grew out of the need for more balance in our time.
