| dc.description.abstract | This publication provides a brief summary of the production and consumption of tea worldwide. It focuses in particular on the U.S. mainland and Hawaii markets so as to provide a relevant market overview. Results of a survey of Hawaii consumers are presented to identify the characteristics of one of the market segments that could be targeted by a high-value tea product. We also summarize implications of the information presented and suggest specific steps needed to assess the economic feasibility of commercial tea production in Hawaii. | |
