Abstract
The War with Iraq along with the March 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska have raised concerns about the pricing of gasoline in the State of Hawaii. Following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, crude oil prices increased nearly $10 per barrel, gasoline prices on the mainland increased as much as 15 cents per gallon, while gasoline prices in Honolulu increased no more than 6 cents per gallon.
