A little bit about the Bangka Language (Thong Boi) - updated fall 2007

Bangka boi ta Ho Pho Khan Kong loi, lok Cung Kwet.


The language originated from a language used in Ho Pho village, China.




Mang to Thong Boi.


It is called Thong Boi.




Sa di kai se mo jung thong ngin se sia jin koi jung fan se sia.


This language does not use Chinese characters, instead, it uses Latin letters.




Cok ka: jit cak co a me kai ngin miang to Indriati Hidajat (Hie Lian In) chut se hi Belijong lok jit cak se thi fong lok Bangka.


Writer: Indriati Hidajat (Hie Lian In) is a housewife, born and raised in Belinyu, Bangka.




Fan jit jan: jit cak thai hok sang lok Hawaii thuk thai hok. Miang to Erenst Anip (Law Tjin Ren).


Translator: Erenst Ruslan Anip (Law Tjin Ren) is a student majoring in International Business at the University of Hawai’i Manoa.
