Abstract
List of 72 parcels and landowners who are applying to withdraw their properties from the Kapoho and Kamaili GErothermal Resource Subzones. This application covers almost 700 acres. Landowners are very concerned about the potential adverse effects bf geothermal development including potential adverse health effects, land use compatibility, notification procedures, groundwater contamination, property devaluation, the inclusion of buffer zones, and the possible destruction of the geothermal wells by volcanic activity or earthquakes leading to permanent ''open venting'' of poisonous hydrogen sulfide gas which contains 900 ppm H 2s (twice the level that can kill a person).
