Abstract
This report describes the U.S. tuna market from a Pacific islands perspective. The report traces the flow of tuna from U.S. and foreign fishermen through the exvessel, wholesale and retail market levels and explains the economic forces that cause changes at each market level. The U.S. market dominates world trade in cannery-quality tuna and the report explains how changes in the U.S. tuna market are transmitted to other world tuna markets.
