Authors:Skipworth, J.P.
Date Issued:Oct 1983
Publisher:University of Hawai'i Press
Citation:Skipworth JP. 1983. Canopy dieback in a New Zealand mountain beech forest. Pac Sci 37(4): 391-395.
Abstract:Accelerated mortality is attributed to an unusually high percentage
of old trees, an abundance of pathogenic fungi, and a putative lowering
of water tables in the 1960s. There is some evidence to suggest that this may be
a cyclical phenomenon.
