Abstract: | Background:
The transition to clinical clerkships brings many new experiences that cause anxiety for third-year medical students. During the pediatric inpatient rotation, medical students describe challenges preparing for family-centered rounds (FCR) and oral presentations. Students have reported feelings of self-doubt, unpreparedness, and anxiety while rotating through the pediatric inpatient rotation. Objectives: Through the implementation of this resource in multiple phases, the primary objective is to decrease medical students’ anxiety regarding rounding and FCR presentations, and to increase preparedness for FCR, each by at least 1 point. Secondary objectives include improving efficiency during rounds and for residents. |
