Abstract
This project describes the development of a professional development program in agroforestry for the Women's Community Correctional Center on Oahu, Hawaii. The objectives of the program are to provide professional development, agricultural education, and place-based rehabilitation. The project reports on the agroforestry design created based on site conditions and program objectives. It includes a planting design with native and culturally significant plants, management recommendations, and a cost-benefit analysis, including a user-friendly budgeting tool. The framework of this program can be expanded to other correctional institutions with arable land and similar objectives.
