Abstract
This paper is a review of population education in the Asia region, with an emphasis on programs within the formal educational system. The authors describe the general development of population education in Asia as a region and identify the common elements of the various national programs. Topics covered include problems of conceptualization, population education methodology and content, in-service training of teachers, and research and evaluation. The paper assesses population education activities and accomplishments to date against the background of stated objectives and discusses likely developments of the future.
