Abstract:The public library’s place in the community has changed dramatically over the past decade. Understanding that is tantamount to our survival. Libraries must not only be repositories of knowledge and information, but must be welcoming community spaces with relevant programming that focuses on not only literacy, but learning new skills. The Marine Corps Base Hawaii Library has developed a method of connecting library programs with the library’s circulating collection which enhances both program attendance and circulation. Learn how we use programs to enrich and amplify our existing services and cement our new role in the community.
