LK opens the show. ED introduces herself. She talks about her parents, her birthplace, her youth. ED talks about Paoakalani, Liliʻuokalani's home at Waikīkī. ED talks about Liliʻuokalani and Waikīkī in her youth - rice and taro. The Ala Wai channeled the water which was previously in taro and rice. Changes in Waikīkī. ED talks about perpetuating the Hawaiian language. ED talks about the changes in food since her youth. ED talks about the young, and urges them to learn the works of old so that they will not die. LK and ED talk about finding knowledge through books, also through people (kupuna). ED talks about how sometimes the kūpuna do not reveal their knowledge. ED talks about Salt Lake being filled in for a golf course. ED talks about the absence of Pele on Oʻahu. Pele on Hawaiʻi. LK and ED talk about different types of fish and limu. Student portion - announcing news by KD2 LK congratulates the people of Maui for “Nā Mele o Maui,” and plays a song for them (a song festival in Lāhaina). LK brings up the subject of ʻaloe, a medicine. LK and ED talk about other medicines and restrictions concerning them. LK and ED talk about different types of kahuna (specialists). Kahuna lāʻau lapaʻau (medical specialist). Pōpolo, a medicine.
