Abstract
Description
I will draw from experiences with two ethic boards to illustrate some of the difficulties in reconciliating community and institutional concerns. I will concentrate on the most problematic requirements for the Kurripako community: anonymity of the subjects, destruction of the data and written consent forms, and its negotiation with the boards.
