Description: | Genre: Medicine/huru. Bapak Pui is host to an arsenal of 'huru'. On this occasion, 20 June -15 in the afternoon, I recorded ten 'huru', using the AT2020 mic, sitting in the main, front room. This file is 'huru beri' ('huru' "name of plant"). It is also a sign/prohibition hung in fruit trees, coconut and others. The plant's leaves or branches are hung or put there by the stem. Symptom: throat ache. Cure with chewed areca nut, piper betel and 'beri'. Apply on throat. Simple. Present were also his daughter and son, and wife, outside on the bamboo plattform. Other listeners, neighbour kids, passed by as usual, peeking in by the window or the doors. Less to zero 'bhulu wao' in Bapak Pui's'huru'. |
