Strengths: Easy to use -- CSS & templates provided – edit PHP to change functionality -- Comments (Univ. Hawaii added ReCaptcha) -- OAI/PMH compatible & harvestable
Drawbacks: No batch load -- Original code not bug free or finished (UH version is enhanced!) -- Only Dublin Core metadata -- No cross-collection search -- Small user base, inactive lists -- Not scaleable beyond ~10,000 images [?]
Requirements: A server (Linux, Mac OSX or Windows) -- Web server software (e.g. Apache) -- MySQL v. 3.23 or higher – PHP v. 4.1 or higher; Ability to download & expand tar.gz/zip files -- Ability to change permissions to allow writes to the Streetprint directory -- create databases & assign rights in MySQL, configure web server software for PHP -- any web browser
