Brief excerpt from interview: When I began this class, I was scared of how much writing there would be. It had been a while since I had taken a Writing Intensive class . . . And he started the class off with 'I do not give ten out of ten.' He listed the requirements for each level--I think average was about seven--but that scared me . . . I took advantage of friends who I knew were strong writers to help me edit . . . As the weeks went on, it got easier and easier . . .

This item includes a segment of a student interview in a Writing Intensive course in Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
