Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies to ciguatoxin (CTX) and okadaic acid (OA) have been prepared using hybridoma technology. Spleen cells from BALB/C mice immunized with CTX-HSA and OA-HSA conjugates were fused with a mouse myeloma, P3X63-Ag8.653. Hybrids designated 5C8 (MonoAb-CTX ) and 10C3 (MonoAb-OA) were selected for further studies. The reactivity of the antibodies produced by the two hybrids with CTX and OA were tested using an enzyme immunoassay. The cross-reactivity of the antibodies to other polyethers and ionophores, ionomycin and A23187, was also investigated.
