Abstract
Educators today face the critical task of finding the appropriate place for modern technological devices in the nation's schools. The foremost device produced by technology is the computer, and it is precisely this instrument which holds the most promise for education. However, the indiscriminate use of the computer is education can do more harm than good. As US commissioner of Education Harold Howe II has pointed out, the answers to some specific questions must come first before the technological revolution in education can proceed very far.
