Abstract:Education in the United States has become increasingly career-oriented. Preoccupation with career matters is part of the fabric of our culture. "Children at all levels are queried as to what they are going to be when they grow up. "I'll be a doctor... I'll be a teacher... I'll be an accountant!? What will I be when I grow up?" This is the question the school child asks. This is the question the teenager asks. This is the question the college student asks.
