Abstract: | Four recent events have been instrumental in the revolution of American educational thinking. First, drama was recommended as a classroom methodology by educational psychologists. Second, British schools utilizing creative drama achieved many objectives that American school methods had failed to consistently achieve. Third, the government has begin to subsidize regional theaters that are educationally oriented. Fourth, the post-Sputnik cycle of educational reform has ended. All these events have lead to increased interest in cirricula and styles of instruction which are concerned with individual growth and response to subject matter. |
