Abstract
Description
A Hilo-born woman discusses her father, a poultry storeowner and herbalist; Mamo Street neighborhood; education; and motherhood. She describes running from the 1946 tsunami while holding a child, with her siblings and parents, just ahead of the wall of water. She also remembers the search for her parents who were trapped in their store in the 1960 tsunami, but who somehow survived the ordeal.
