|Abstract:||The purpose of this thesis is to assess the pipe network at HBWS for improved asset management. The objective is to develop a DSS to aid in the prioritization of water mains for renewal. Currently, the practice of prioritizing water mains for renewal relies mainly on assessments made by field crews; although this practice is effective to some degree, it can certainly be improved upon. This study will employ engineering principles to develop criteria that will maximize replacement efforts and potentially improve upon current practices. Ultimately, the DSS will help HBWS in deciding which water main to replace, and when to replace it. The framework of the DSS is comprised of eight tools.|
