Item type: Item , The Ramie Moth (Arcte coerula) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Reaches Oʻahu: A New Island Record and Comparison with Hawaiʻi Island(2026-05-18) Michelle G Au; William Haines; Mark G WrightItem type: Item , New Species of Chalcidoid Wasps Associated with Stem Galls of Ficus microcarpa in Hawaiʻi(2026-04-16)We describe Josephiella manana Magnacca & Zhang sp. nov. (Epichrysomallidae), which induces stem galls on the introduced Chinese banyan (Ficus microcarpa). In association with these galls, we also describe Gibsonoma kuewa Magnacca & Zhang sp. nov. (Eurytomidae, Eurytominae). Both species are introduced to Hawaiʻi and are likely established on all islands where F. microcarpa occurs. In addition, the Australian Eurytoma longipetiolata Girault is transferred to Gibsonoma as Gibsonoma longipetiolata (Girault) comb. nov.Item type: Item , Two New Single-island Endemic Species of Haliophyle Warren (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) from Molokaʻi and Oʻahu(2026-04-16) Satyanna Paynter-Tavares; Kyhl A. Austin; Camiel Doorenweerd; Daniel RubinoffHaliophyle Warren is an endemic Hawaiian genus of noctuid moths, the larvae of which feed exclusively on ferns; the adults of many species are bright red, orange, or pink. We describe two new species of ‘orange-type’ Haliophyle endemic to the islands of Molokaʻi and Oʻahu: Haliophyle maio, sp. nov. PaynterTavares & Austin (Molokaʻi) and Haliophyle maipahi, sp. nov. Paynter-Tavares & Austin (Oʻahu). This brings the total of described Haliophyle to ten, but more undescribed species are known in collections. The newly described species are likely sister species but differentiated by conspicuous differences in the male genitalia and subtle differences in patterns on the forewing. Haliophyle maipahi is likely extinct given it has not been collected in 60 years. We provide annotated figures of wing pattern elements and genitalia of both sexes to facilitate future work on Haliophyle.Item type: Item , Sunflower Spittlebug May Be an Underestimated Threat to Native Hawaiian Flora and Fauna (Hemiptera: Clastoptera xanthocephala)(2026-02-15) Spencer L Pote; Camiel Doorenweerd
