Item type: Item , The Hidden Cost of Cybersecurity Groupthink: A Case for Ethical Diversity(2026-01-06) Li, Angela; Guzanova, ReginaAs cybersecurity decisions increasingly impact privacy, safety, and civil liberties, ethical reasoning becomes crucial for practitioners. Yet the field remains demographically homogeneous, potentially limiting ethical perspectives in critical decision-making. This study examines how team diversity influences ethical engagement in cybersecurity through semi-structured interviews with three U.S. professionals from teams with varying demographic composition. Using the Principlist Ethical Framework, we analyze how race, gender identity, neurodivergence, and sexual orientation shape ethical awareness across beneficence, autonomy, non-maleficence, justice, and explicability principles. Findings reveal that professionals from underrepresented backgrounds often demonstrate heightened ethical sensitivity and identify blind spots overlooked by homogeneous teams. However, diverse perspectives only translate to meaningful action when organizational culture supports ethical dialogue. This research suggests that strategic diversity hiring combined with supportive ethical cultures can strengthen both cybersecurity decision-making and organizational risk management.Item type: Item , Artificial Intelligence and Product Manager 2.0(2026-01-06) Fleming, Brandon; Velcsov, GheorgheThe product manager (PM) role is going through a dramatic change as companies begin deploying artificial intelligence (AI) tools. This paper examines the impact of AI tools on product management, highlighting the challenge for both experienced and novice PM’s to apply these tools. We identify the PM 1.0, or pre-AI, roles and responsibilities. Next, we offer an example of PM tasks in the PM 1.0 versus the 2.0 era. Then we discuss the new PM 2.0 roles and responsibilities using AI tools. Then we reflect on the challenges for experienced and novice PM’s under each scenario. We conclude with points of consideration for organizations seeking to deploy AI tools for both experienced and inexperienced PMs.Item type: Item , Pricing Models for Agentic AI Services: A Multi-Sided Market Analysis(2026-01-06) Ertan, Emre; Tomak, KeremWe examine pricing strategies for agentic artificial intelligence (AI) services through the lens of multi-sided markets and game theory. Our analysis reveals that traditional software pricing models inadequately capture the autonomous, outcome-driven value proposition of agentic AI. We propose a framework combining value-based pricing with multi-sided market dynamics, supported by empirical evidence from enterprise software and e-commerce implementations. This research contributes to understanding how organizations can effectively price and adopt AI agents that operate with minimal human supervision while delivering measurable business outcomesItem type: Item , Needs Translation: Advocating for Marginalized Communities in Tech Design(2026-01-06) Williams, Apryl; Brathwaite, Kyla; Banks, Jasmine; Benson, Erykah; Monier, Mel; Sayler, Janae; Paredes, GabrielTo address the problem of disjointed approaches to AI and equity, our proposed project develops new methods and research frameworks to interrogate how AI technologies and applications may be used for social good. We have developed a framework called “Needs Translation” that integrates and foregrounds the complex needs of the various stakeholders in the technoculture ecosystem. Though these needs are often portrayed as being at odds with each other, we contend that each need, needs translation for the other groups, so that the rights and needs of the most marginalized and/or most impacted communities are represented in the industrial decisions and design of emerging artificial intelligence, algorithmic technologies, and technology implementation. In our talk, we explore the Needs Translation framework in action by presenting a case study of work conducted by our team with a leading dating company. We examine and refine the Needs Translation framework with an industry partner.Item type: Item , Introduction to the Minitrack on Practitioner Research Insights: Applications of Science and Technology to Real-World Innovations(2026-01-06) Ing, David; Qian, Maggie; Griffith, Terri; Keskin, Tayfun
