Yiddish Interviews - Breslow

Sociolinguistic interviews in Yiddish and English conducted by Emma Breslow, summer 2024. These interviews contributed to Emma's 2026 PhD dissertation, entitled: Diversity in a diasporic language: Sociolinguistic variation in minority Yiddish contexts.
Please note that some interviews have been anonymized, such that transcripts contain material marked as "[redacted]" and audio files have replaced identifying information with a beep noise. Additionally, the archive user is advised to rely on their own judgment regarding transcripts; despite the best efforts of the transcription team, interview texts and ELAN files undoubtedly contain errors. With apologies to any interviewee whose words may have been misrepresented, archive users are encouraged to refer to the audio files, when in doubt. When the transcription team was unable to determine something that was said, either due to unclear audio or vocabulary, this has been marked as "[unintelligible]".
