Kiribati recently introduced language revitalization about 2 years ago, focusing on language nest and immersion school (early childhood learning). The new policy was introduced with the assistance of Australian Aid through the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Kiribati.
I think that there should also be focus on revitalizing old language/songs which our elderly native speakers only know well. Some old songs are still sung until this day with modern technology they have been turned into modern music, however, the meanings remain a mystery for most of the people. To be able to retrieve the meanings of these songs and other significant knowledge such as local navigation etc…, I would think the best approach would be the Master-Apprentice and Community-based programs as they target the older members of society to work with the younger generation.
