Abstract
Research demonstrates as much as $28 trillion could be added to the global economy by 2025 if all countries bridged the gender gap—a magnitude equivalent to the combined US and China economies today. As Asia-Pacific G20 members represent close to two-thirds of global GDP, a focus on this region is critical for meaningful progress on women's economic equality. In 2017 the first W20 dialogue to focus on the Asia Pacific met at the East-West Center and examined good practices in the region and produced policy recommendations for G20 leaders in key areas related to women's economic empowerment.
